My Advice
Following are my advice to peoples comming in my profession-
a) Teaching is a devoting profession, first promise to be devoted to the profession.
b)Any of the faculty may be more learned but imparting the education is different activity. It depends on the way of imparting.
c) Search the knowledge at any cost and be knowledgeable.
d)Treat the students as your son and daughter.
e) Create the believance of students on yourself.
f) Complete your Ph.D. at the earliest.
Unique way of teaching
Talented manpower is the asset and success or failure of organisation depends on its manpower. Talent hunting is also a difficult and retention of talent is more difficult than talent hunting. search for talented manpower and plan for their retention for making education more valuable, practical and effective.
My priorities
Top priority is my routine daily preparation for getting ready to work. Then first priority is the works related with students and faculties. Latter on the priority to management work. Last priority is my personal work after 7 P.M.
Family Background
I belong from rural and interior area of Balrampur district, name of place Mandeeh at 27°43’40.90″ N and 82°10’05.72″ E, where still there is no proper public transport facility. Walking on foot for 65 Kilometer, I took my education at Balampur up to 12 th. standard. My father Sri Udai Ptratap Srivasta was a former and my mother Sunderpati Devi was a house wife. I was three brothers and five sisters. I was eldest one. My second brother Dr. Ram Bux Srivastava is Reader [ now Principal ] at MLKPG College Balrampur and Other brother Mr. Ram Pal Srivastava is Ciief Editor. My all the sisters are house wife, My son Mr. Alok Ranjan is working with TCS and my daughter in law Mrs Jaishree is working as faculty at Lal Bahadur Shastri college of management. My eldest daughter is working at Kharagpur, and little daughter is studying at 10 th standard. In my time the study was very valuable and most of the teachers were competent to their subjects.
Important Lesson
Don’t preach to fools and teach honestly to curious peoples. Do not tell any thing to any one except your students, without asking. Try to be ethical and valuable. Do not compromise with your professional ethics.
Outlook about way to raise quality education
There is difference between want and desire. The desire may be different and want may be different like RTI LAW and others. If, India wants some of the things to consider for increasing quality of education, it has to librate education from the tie of education guins. It has to monitor quality of faculty and quality of facilities. Payment of salary should be taken by government. There should be a centralised selection of faculties.Private owner of institutions should not be allowed to earn money from students as per their own desire. To fix the norms is easy but to implement the norm not so easy. Government has to monitor strictly its norms.
Future of Indian Education System
I see that education is commercializing. It is going to be profit oriented in place of knowledge oriented. Knowledge orientation of education is becoming rare day by day. In higher education, the input quality of students is decreasing contineously. When a meritorious student is not geting the proper employment due to certain rules and rugulations and a weaker student is getting the job much better than meritorious one, an inferiority complex is arises in meritorious student and he becomes disheartened about the education. Our new
admission strength in higher education is the witness that number of students seeking admission in higher eduction have come down tremondously. Now new generation is searching some new option inplace of education. Another important point is that our faculities are unable to impart knowledge education to our students as per requirement of market/industries. After taking higher education, the practical knowledge of students is approximate nil.
My inspiring personality
My role model is honorable Lal Bahadur Shastri ji. I get inspired by him. He was liking to cross gaga river by swiming instead of taking money from his classfellows and crossing Ganga by boat.
Strongest Subject
My strongest subject is Mechanical Engineering because I have taken the eduction in Mechanical Engineering. Among mechanical enginering subjects, I prefered Industrial Engineering because this branch of engineering is also related with management which is an area of knowledge for getting the work done. Management considers each and every area of knowledge as a part of a goal and to achieve the goal with optimum efforts is work of management. Industrial Engineering not only imparts the knowledge about industries related activities but it also highlights about the different aspect of management.
Most Rewarding Moment
I have written a book on Non Conventional Energy Resources and Utilisation in Hindi Language. After some time when I learnt that my book has been selected for National Award by AICTE, Government of India, New Delhi, I was delighted. When I recieved this award by Chairman, AICTE, I think that it was the most rewarding teaching experience for me. Secondly, when my students working on honorable posts pay me respect, I become delighted and I experience tremondous pleasure. I think that these are the most most rewarding teaching experience for me
Way to motivate Students
It is an art and experience to motivate. By motivation people agree to be the human bomb and agree to be terrorist to socide themself. In comparision to this type motivation, to motivate our students is easy. For motivation, first start with showing the dreams of life and achievement alongwith the benifit from achievements. If, desire has awakened, it indicates that motivation started. Now the studen himself become very curious that how to fulfill the desire and accordingly he works to achieve the career.
Outlook about increase students’ participation
This is a big and interesting question. Everybody is bothering for their own development and earning the money, and becomming multimillionare within short span of time. Here, I like to say that if, we think about the development of nation, we should make arrangement of teaching about the Human Values and Professional Ethics to all the students starting from intermediate level to Post graduate level. I think that it will enhance the development og our nation.
Favorite Non-Academic books
I have read non academic book “SHRIMAD BHAGAWAT GEETA”. I also written it in simple rythimic language in form of a book “BHAVAGEET GEETAKE”. Here is one of the best teaching “Do your work with honesty and forget about the result” because the result is not in your hand and when it is not in your hand why to bother for it. Walking on this path, I got success in my life. Still, I am following this path.
Most Challenges facing by students
The biggest challenge faced by the the student is the quality of faculty. In general, the faculty itself is not knowing how to teach, what to teach and how to create the students interest in learning. Most of the institutions are prefering the low cost faculties instead of knowledgeable faculty. There is also no relation between the knowledge and reservation. The facility provided by institutions for development of students is also questionable. Practical and theoritical knowledge, both are complement of each other. Theory is useless without practical and simillarly practical is useless without theory. The other biggest challenge faced by student is the practical knowledge.
